Former Ottawa Senators goaltender Ray Emery will try out for the Blackhawks next
season. Chicago will have until October 1st to sign him. Emery spent last season
with the Anaheim Ducks. Two years ago, he played for tbe Philadelphia Flyers.
Emery played in Russia during the 2008-09 season. He played for the Ottawa Senators
from 2005-2008.
Emery came back from a career threatening hip injury that occurred when he was
playing for the Flyers in 2009-2010. He signed with the Ducks in February and earned
a regular season 7-2-0 record with a 2.28 goals against average and a .926 save
percentage. Emery was 2-3 after Anaheim's first-round loss to Nashville.
Emery will compete for a second-string job in Chicago to backup Corey Crawford.
