Jonathan Toews's time with the Stanley Cup

The past 2 days have been very exciting for Jonathan Toews.His first day with the Stanley Cup began at the Manitoba provincial legislature, where the provincial government of Manitoba unveiled the lake that they were going to name after him.Then it was off to city hall where Toews showed off the Stanley Cup, Gold Medal, and Conn Smythe trophy. Toews also signed autographs for fans at City Hall. Jonathan also received a Gold Medallion for his achievements. Later,Jonathan went on a parade that started at his old elementary school and went to the Dakota Community Center, which was renamed the Jonathan Toews Community Centre in his honour. Toews also received a key to the city of Winnipeg.There are two pictures of Toews with the cup and his 3-year old cousin Madison that I think are pretty cute:





There was one funny moment during the day, when Canadian Public Safety Minister Vic Toews- no, he is not related to Jonathan- said something along the lines of "I've been in public office for fifteen years, and because of Jonathan, people have finally started to pronounce my name correctly."

During his second Day with the cup, Jonathan hosted a charity golf tournament, The Boston Pizza Jonathan Toews Fore Kids Golf Classic. Before the tournament, Toews was subject to some questions by each of the golf tournament's 144 participants. All funds from the golf tournament go to the Children's Rehabilitation Foundation, which supports special needs kids and kids with disabilities across Manitoba. Toews later visited the Children's Rehabilitation Centre,which was where Cole Magnusson, an
11-year-old with mild cerebral palsy,got to wear Toews's gold medal. Jonathan is spending Monday night partying with the cup.
