IIya Kovalchuk signs with the New Jersey Devils

According to the CBC website, New Jersey Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello
has signed Ilya Kovalchuk to a 17-year deal worth $100 million dollars U.S. Kovalchuk was rumored to sign with the Los Angeles Kings or the KHL. Kovalchuk's agent Jay Grossman said in an interview with The associated press "This was an ardous process that has frankly taken longer than I thought," He also added "But you know what, nothing is worth anything unless you work for it. I can tell you he is very happy to be with the New Jersey Devils."

The Devils obtained Kovalchuk in a Feb. 4th trade with the Atlanta Thrashers.
Kovalchuk scored 41 goals and 85 points last season. He will hold a news conference
Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Prudential Center.
