some things to keep me entertained while waiting for my flight to Varadero at the
Ottawa Airport, and on the airplane both ways. Thus, I packed The Day I (Almost)
Killed Two Gretzkys for the trip.
Personally, when an airplane takes off, it feels like I am on Wonderland's former
Scooby-Doo rollercoaster. I feel the same way when there`s turbulence and when
planes land. So as the airplane took off, I began screaming in my head and held
on to my mom's hand. My mom then insisted that I read some columns from The Day I
(Almost)Killed Two Gretzkys to her. When I read, I was laughing so hard that I
wasn't nervous anymore.
I read The Day I (Almost)Killed Two Gretzkys when there was turbulence and when the
plane landed as well. In both of those situations, reading the book helped me to
relax.
The Day I (Almost) Killed Two Gretzkys also provided some entertainment while
I was on the beach in Varadero.

While in Cuba, my dad and I stood in the middle of some aggressive waves. Some of
the waves smacked both of us in the ear, and two knocked us underwater. While we
were standing in the waves, I wondered what funny things James Duthie would have had
written in his column if he were in the same situation.
One off-topic point: -I got James Duthie to autograph The Day I (Almost) Killed Two
Gretzkys at the Senators vs. Oilers game in November. I was lucky because I had no
clue that James Duthie would be at the game signing autographs.
